The Third Day of Christmas

Joy to the World

Hey everyone and welcome to the third day of our Christmas count-up here at the Faith Filled Friends. Tonight, I have a great version of ‘Joy of the World’ to share with you by Lincoln Brewster. If you have heard Lincoln’s music before, you would know that a central part is His amazing guitar solos. This song is no different, but beyond how it sounds, this carol also gives us a great message of joy and hope because the Lord has come to save us from our sins. Jesus gives us so much to be joyful for. May He fill us with joy and happiness this Christmas.

Let’s get to it!

Luke 2:10-11 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Saviour has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.

Joy to the World, the Lord is come!

The good news of Jesus’ birth is something to be joyful about. The angels who announced his birth said it themselves; “I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people”. The joyful news was that a saviour had been born who would rescue the world from their sin.

He was not born in a palace or in a place of royalty, but He humbled himself to become human, being born in a stable in the presence of animals. It was this same saviour who would bring joy to those who first saw him; the shepherds and later the wise men. Jesus continues to bring joy to those who trust Him as their Lord and Saviour, it is a joy that lives in our hearts because we know that we are loved by God and have been set free from the chains of our sin because of Jesus. It was because of God’s amazing love for us that He sent His son Jesus to be the perfect substitute for our sin. All who trust in Him as their Lord and Savour will receive the gift of eternal life. That is a reason to be joyful this Christmas!

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Joy to the World, the Savior reigns! Let men their songs employ; While fields and floods, rocks, hills and plains Repeat the sounding joy, Repeat the sounding joy, Repeat, repeat, the sounding joy.

Jesus is worthy of our praise this Christmas and always because of what He has done. Christmas truly is a time of joy, where we sing carols and song of praise giving thanks to God for His indescribable gift! The whole earth shouts God’s praises for all He has done. May we live out the joy that is in our hearts this Christmas because we know we have been redeemed and set free!

2 Corinthians 9:15 Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!

The joy of Christmas is not just for a select group of people, it’s for everyone! God wants everyone to know the joy that comes with the gift of His son. Let’s share this joy and hope that we have with everyone this Christmas, whether it means inviting friends or family to a carols event or Christmas service, everyone needs to know the true joy of Christmas that can only come from Jesus.

We can try to find our joy in lots of things this Christmas; the food, the presents and holidays. All of these things are great, but they don’t give us the lasting joy that Jesus gives. In this time leading up to Christmas, take the time to remind yourself of the true joy of Christmas that has given hope and joy to the whole world!

God Bless you this Christmas,

Josh Clarke- The Faith Filled Friends
