Our heart is similar to our history…
To be called by God is amazing, no matter what it is, because you know God has made the plans and they will help you prosper. But being called into a place where we can share the good news of Christ to people all over the world is absolutely humbling! And being called to do this with amazing, God loving friends is even more of a blessing. We are unbelievably grateful for everything God has given us. We get to share our passions of God, music and life all at once. “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11
God knows everything and He made everything! All we can do is say thank you and live the life He has given us. He has called us to live because of His great love and shine all of His grace to the world. We are called to be beacons to the lost and the broken. We must live like we are loved, because we are and so unconditionally. The crew here at The Faith Filled Friends are not perfect, far from it actually. But we don’t have to be because Jesus went to the cross, the living sacrifice for all the sin in the world! But death and all the power in hell couldn’t hold Him down, and He rose from the grave on that third day! He set us free.
We believe in the sacrifice of Jesus and that He conquered death. We believe in the Holy Spirit that fills us. We believe in the unfailing love of God and all His grace. We believe in the Bible, which is the word of God given unto us. We believe in the power of prayer and the miracles that follow. We believe in the supernatural power that God has given us. We believe God is faithful and that He will never leave us. We believe in the plans He has made for our lives, we are not accidents. We believe God will change lives through what He commands us to write on this website. And we believe this is just the beginning of The Faith Filled Friends and God has much more in stock for us to unpack as we push into His love and His word.
This is the Faith Filled Friends Creed- it is what we believe as followers as Jesus, based on the songs “We Believe” by the Newsboys, “Manifesto” by City Harmonic, “This I Believe (The Creed)” by Hillsong Worship and “Creed” by Petra.
“There is only one foundation
We believe, we believe
There is only one salvation
We believe, we believe”
We believe Jesus Christ is our rock. He is both our foundation and our salvation. We believe our lives are to built on Jesus, as He is the sure and unshakable foundation. Nothing else in this world can give us the assurance and satisfaction that comes from Jesus. He is also our salvation. We are sinners by nature, yet God sent His son, Jesus to earth as a man to die for our sins- to take the punishment we deserved. Jesus died for us and rose again so that we can live with Him for eternity. What’s more, there is nothing we have to do to receive Jesus’ gift of salvation. All we need to do is to trust in what Jesus has done for us- through His death on the cross we can have life and have it to the full. It is all about God’s grace.
1 Corinthians 3:11-“For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ”.
John 3:16-“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life”.
The chorus of ‘We Believe’ touches on our key beliefs;
“We believe in God the Father
We believe in Jesus Christ
We believe in the Holy Spirit
And He’s given us new life
We believe in the crucifixion
We believe that He conquered death
We believe in the resurrection
And He’s coming’ back again, we believe”
At the Faith Filled Friends, we believe that God is three in one. God Himself is one being and consists of three components- known as the Trinity. God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.
We receive new life through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. He paid the punishment for our sins so that we may live free of condemnation, because of His enormous love for us.
Romans 5:8-“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us”
Jesus did not just stay dead- He rose again from the grave after three days. He was able to defeat death, so that we don’t have to face it. We will never face an eternal death as followers as Christ. We believe He will give us the gift of eternal life with Him- because of His grace and mercy.
Romans 8:11-“And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you”.
Jesus also promised to return for His children. All those who who believe in the death and resurrection of Jesus can look forward to the return of the Lord, when He comes to take His people home to heaven.
Acts 1:11-“This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven.”
“Let the lost be found and the dead be raised!
In the here and now, let love invade!
Let the church live love our God will save
We believe, we believe!
And the gates of hell will not prevail!
For the power of God, has torn the veil!
Now we know Your love will never fail!
We believe, we believe”!
Jesus commanded us to make disciples of all nations (followers of Him). As Christians, we are urged to take the gospel; the good news of Jesus to the ends of the earth. We cannot force people to follow Jesus but we can point them to God and His word and the Holy Spirit will do the work inside of them. Through God’s power, we believe that the lost can be found and the dead can be raised.
Love is the greatest command given by Jesus Himself. As the bible says in Mark 12:30-31- “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this: “Love your neighbor as yourself”.There is no commandment greater than these.”
It is with love that we seek to live as Christians- seeking to love others just as Christ who loved us first, through His death on the cross for our sake. The love that God showed us is the same love we seek to share as His people.
The amazing news is that when Jesus died for us, the cross bridged this divide. When we come to God in repentance, asking for His forgiveness, the separation between us and God is no longer. The very moment Jesus died on the cross, the veil in the temple was torn in two! Mark 15:37-38-“With a loud cry, Jesus breathed his last. The curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom”
This symbolised that all now had access to God. The barriers that had previously existed were now gone. The barrier of sin had been destroyed by God. As Christians, we believe that through Jesus’ death, sin no longer hinder us from God, because He has torn the veil in two. Jesus’ death and what it achieved for all of humanity is the core of our beliefs. We are forever thankful to Christ Jesus, our Lord and Saviour for what He has done for us so that we may have life and have it to the full. Since we receive God’s grace as a gift and not through our own efforts, we don’t have to try and measure up to any standards.
Ephesians 2:8-9- “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God, not by works, so that no one can boast”.
Romans 10:9-“If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved”.
This is what we believe, Our Creed- Amen.
“Manifesto” was the song that gave us the inspiration for making a creed. It was written when the City Harmonic placed a load of creeds on a desk and wrote a song on it. Our Creed is a load of songs about creeds becoming our creed.
‘We believe in the one true God, We believe in Father Spirit Son, We believe that good has won…’ This is what we believe here at The Faith Filled Friends. We believe in Jesus and we believe He died for us so we could be filled by the Holy Spirit. We believe in the trinity between the Father God, the Holy Spirit and Jesus Christ the son. We believe in the crucifixion, We believe that Jesus conquered death and that we have been saved through it.
‘…We are free He died and lives again, We will be a people freed from sin, We’ll be free, a kingdom with no end…’ We believe in the resurrection and that death is not the end, not for us any more since Jesus conquered it over two thousand years ago.
‘…Our father who art in Heaven, hallowed by thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, On earth as it is in heaven.Give us our daily bread and forgive our trespasses, As we forgive those who have trespassed against us, Lord lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil, For Thine is the kingdom, power and the glory forever, We’re singing Amen…’ This is The Lords Prayer and it is used in “Manifesto”. It is an amazing prayer that we should prayer as Christians because our creed is that the word of God is truth and the Lord said we should pray this.
Have a listen to it here:
This is our creed. This is what we believe and this is what we stand for here at The Faith Filled Friends.
