I Need More Of You

I Need More Of You

Hey guys and welcome back to The Faith Filled Friends. We are so glad to have you join us today. We had a blast during our birthday but now we are straight back into the devotions. Today, we are going to be talking about worship again and what it looks like for us. Let’s dive into it!

Worship Wednesday

More Of You- Young & Free

‭‭Psalm‬ ‭16:2
“I say to the Lord, “You are my Lord; apart from you I have no good thing.””

‘…When You give Your heart
You don’t leave me wanting
For anything
Love has called my name
What could separate us
Now forever…’

Today, I was at university and this song hit me. It felt so simple, so clear, so true, while still being exactly what I needed to hear.

God is all we need. Jesus is all we need.

If that sounds familiar to you then you probably joined us for our second birthday celebration. We spoke about how Jesus is all we need in this life. It was challenging and such a great remind of what is most important.

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6:33
“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”

‘…I wanna know Your love Your love
I need more of You less of me
I wanna know more of Your heart
Make me who You want me to be
God this is my prayer
Make me more aware of You
I wanna know You
I wanna know You
Jesus Jesus
I need more of You
More of You less of me…’

Worship is surrender. When we put something or someone above us and exalt that thing then we worship it. Are you truly worshipping God? How are you living everyday of your life? Do you exalt the creator or His creation?

So often we can put ourselves above God; our priorities, our assessments, our work. We worship ourselves and then try to worship God on a Sunday for one hour. Worship is a lifestyle.

We need more of God and less of us. Is your prayer to see Jesus lifted up, or to see your life go well? What was your last prayer, I am willing to bet that it probably included you asking God for something. It is human nature, but we need to make worship our nature.

‘…No eye has seen
No mind conceived
All the depths of Your great love
So I’ll worship You
With everything
Jesus have Your way in me…’

What a prayer. When we remember who God is and what He has done we can’t help but worship Him. He is God!

It’s amazing that we can even pray, “More of you, less of me.” We get to talk one on one with the creator of the universe and we also have the opportunity to have Him in our hearts.

‭‭Psalm‬ ‭16:5-11
“Lord, you alone are my portion and my cup; you make my lot secure. The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; surely I have a delightful inheritance. I will praise the Lord, who counsels me; even at night my heart instructs me. I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken.
Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will rest secure, because you will not abandon me to the realm of the dead, nor will you let your faithful one see decay. You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.”

More of you, Lord and less of me!

God Bless

  1. I was reading in John today and this verse stuck out. It’s taken very out of context but I like the simplicity of the words.

    ‭‭John‬ ‭14:8
“Philip said, “Lord, show us the Father and that will be enough for us.””

Super simple, just God and that is enough. All we need is God and that is enough. Just give me Jesus!

  2. This is such an important message and something we all so easily forget. We aren’t the centre of the world!

Worship truly is a lifestyle. If all we do is sing to God on a Sunday morning how can worship be a lifestyle?

In our words, thoughts and actions we must worship God as king and creator of this world.

When we worship God, it reminds us just how small we are and how GREAT God is.

Let’s worship our God with all we have, everyday.
