The How Do You Spend Your Time
Hey guys and welcome back to The Faith Filled Friends. We believe as a team that spending time with God is the most important thing we can do. Life is so short but the time we spend with God is never wasted. So here we are again, ready to smash out some devotional time with the Creator of the Universe?
“Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is.”
How can we live a life that God has called us to live, if we don’t communicate? How can we be wise and live like God has called us to? We need to read God’s word, the Bible and start spending time in worship. When we seek God, He draws near when we seek Him.
We often forget that the bible is also know as, the word of life. It is the living words of God! If there is one book you have to read in your life it would be the bible.
What is prayer? It is direct communication with God. No hold, no delays, no miss-calls. God is always listening, that is the same God who made the universe… He wants to speak with you.
We need to spend at least 15 minutes in the day with God. Remember that this shouldn’t be a check list thing, God wants our hearts. He wants us to want Him. So don’t feel pressured into it.
The 15 minutes should be broken down. 10 minutes should be spent reading the Bible and learning from God’s word. 4 minutes should be spent in prayer. The prayer should not be a prayer to some distant gods, but it should be direct communication to the one true Lord who is in your room and wants to have a relationship with you. Talk to God as if He was your friend. And let’s not forget that last-minute, worship! We love praising God through song and we agree that you should take some time to listen to one worship song or instrumental and just worship God. He is so worthy of praise and worship.
So this week, mend that relationship with God. Fifteen minutes is a minimum and not a maximum. Get connected to the church and to Jesus this week and you will see the most amazing things happen.
