Hey guys and welcome back to The Faith Filled Friends. We are so glad to have you join us today for our devotion. Today we want to talk about God’s love and how crazy and different it is to any kind of earthly love. Let’s dive into it!
Call It Grace- Unspoken
Do you stuff up?
I know that I do and it’s okay if you admit you do too. We are all human and we all make mistakes, it is in our very nature. We are flawed.
1 John 2:16-17
“For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world.
The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever.”
Ever since Adam and Eve first walked away from God, all humanity was broken.
But I am not here to point out your flaws and make you feel bad. I am here to remind you that Jesus loves you even in your mess.
We all sin and God cannot be with sin for He is holy. But God’s love reached past that barrier and He put on flesh and walked in the very world He created. God knew that a sacrifice was needed to save us, perfect, innocent blood. Jesus was the answer.
“I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.”
Jesus came as the Messiah, our good shepherd. He walked on this earth sharing the Good News that everyone could be saved. But the real reason He came was to die.
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
We can so easily forget the amazing beauty in this sacrifice because everyone knows this verse. But Jesus came to Earth and was tempted just like us, yet never sinned. He walked in the very world He made and then allowed Himself to be killed so He could save us, the very people who killed Him.
I know a lot of people believe that Jesus came to Earth, it is proven that Jesus was a real man who lived, died and rose again. But people struggle to believe that Jesus was enough.
I don’t know what you have done in your life, but do you want me to tell you a secret… You are no worse than me. Yeah. You could feel like the worst person in the world but you are no worse than me.
Sin is sin. It doesn’t matter if you have lived in sin all your life or if you were raised in church. We all sin and no sin is greater than another, it all separates us from God. So it doesn’t matter how much you have done, we are in the same boat.
“For by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being made holy.”
Because of what Jesus did, we are made holy. We have been redeemed and we no longer need to live in sin. That is the best news ever!
God’s love covers all over our sins. Jesus was the one perfect sacrifice that has saved all of us, all we need to do is believe it and grab a hold of it.
You may sin again and that’s okay. We aren’t perfect, everyone sins. But just remember that there is nothing that can separate us from Jesus. His sacrifice has saved us all and that is the power of God’s love.
“Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?”
God loves you. Never forget it!
