Powerful, Innocent Blood
Hey guys and welcome back to The Faith Filled Friends. We are so glad that you decided to join us today. In this devotion we want to address some big questions about Jesus and His blood. It is an exciting topic and we are pumped to be sharing it with you. So, let’s dive into it!
Nothing But The Blood- All Sons & Daughters
We all know the gospel. God’s great masterpiece. His master plan.
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of Godʼs one and only Son.”
This is what we believe. Jesus willingly stepped down from heaven into the world that He created, in order to save us. His love stretches through all creation and we can see it everywhere we look. But the greatest symbol of love is THE CROSS.
Why did Jesus have to die? He is God, right? He can do all things and therefore He could have forgiven us or removed our sin. Why didn’t He do that?
It is actually quite simple when we know the truth.
“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
The price for sin is death. It is a rule that God had made, it was the punishment for sin. Sin cannot be with God because He is holy. Therefore, sin cause separation from God, which is death.
Innocent blood could be used to cover sin. In the Old Testament we see lambs slaughtered and the blood sprinkled on the people to cleanse them. Blood was the way to God. But the blood of an animal wasn’t enough and God promised a better way.
“And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel.”
Jesus was and is the only way to be saved from the punishment of sin.god Himself provided the only possible sacrifice for our sins. The blood of Jesus atones us and gives us forgiveness.
There is power in the blood of Jesus. With the blood of Jesus on us we can be filled with the Holy Spirit. The power we have been given is amazing. Healing, boldness, the langue of tongues, prophesy, the power to communicate with God, courage and many more. We are called to not just live under the blood, forgiven and free, but to live because of the blood. We are call to live in all the power and the anointing that the blood brings and we are meant to take it to the world.
So why did Jesus have to die? A HOLY God and a JUST God cannot leave sin unpunished. Our God is just and holy but also loving. He has promised punishment, but He provided a solution. A hope.
The reason Jesus died wasn’t so that we could find Him, but that He could find us.
