Never As Dark As It Seems To Be

The Lighthouse

Hey guys and welcome back to The Faith Filled Friends. Today I will be breaking down an analogy that God gave to me a while back. I am not sure if I discussed it before but I think it is a beautiful picture of our walk with God.

Matthew‬ ‭7:13-14
“Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.”

The Christian life is hard, Jesus told us that. It is so much easier and more comfortable to live a life of this world than to live a life after Jesus. We don’t want to walk the narrow road, it is so much worst than the broad road. But we walk the narrow road because we know what lies at the end, eternal life.

The analogy God gave me a while back was so beautiful. Jesus is the lighthouse. We are sailing on a ship in the pitch black. There are no stars and no lights. The wind and the waves crash at our boat but we keep going. Suddenly, a beam of light floods the sky, the lighthouse. We point the ship towards the light and move forward. Boats all around us turn back or try travel a different direction but we know that at the lighthouse there is land and life.

Jesus is the lighthouse. We don’t normally travel towards lighthouses because we know that they warn us of danger- rocks and shallow water. But we are the sailors, lost at sea and in desperate search of land. We know that if we don’t get to shore we will die. But many people know the danger but won’t risk it. The beam of light is the good news of Jesus. Everyone sees it but only a few pursue it to Jesus; to life!

There is danger, trials and tribulations are everywhere when we follow the light. But we have a choice to head to the light or remain in the darkness. Although it gets hard and we hit rocks, we know that our God will carry us through into the promise land, into eternity.

We will face hard times but we have each other and God. We can lift up our prayers to Jesus because He hears and He cares. It’s never as dark as it seems to be. The light will always pierce the dark. When you head through a rough patch, just listen to this song and remember that God will always win, because He already has.

Never As Dark As It Seems To Be- Jaci Velasquez

‘…I know you feel
You’ve run out of hope
It gets hard to breathe
When there’s so much unknown
Let this be the day
Your fear runs and hides
Let truth set you free
Let faith come alive…’

‘…Here in this world
There’s trouble and pain
But through it all
This promise remains
We have a hope
That can’t be undone
Our Savior’s alive
And we overcome…’

Remember that Jesus has been in your shoes and that He is right beside you. He loves you and will never ever let the darkness overcome you. Hold onto His promise and don’t be shaken. The light will carry you through the dark and stormy days.

‘…We have a light that will never fade
It leads us on through our darkest days
He’s alive and well in you and me
It’s never as dark as it seems to be…’

‘…It’s never as dark as it seems to be
Lift up your head and you will see
The cross still stands, there’s victory
It’s never as dark as it seems to be…’

Find hope in His word and… Keep chasing the light!

God Bless
