Sunday Sessions

Hey guys and welcome to the Sunday Sessions devotion. We would love to welcome you to The Faith Filled Friends, whether it is your first time or you are a Faithful Follower. Welcome! Today’s devotion will be an encouraging word for you so we pray that it inspires you.

‭‭Galatians‬ ‭6:2‬
“Carry each otherʼs burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.”

This verse has been in my heart for a while now and I have been desperate to share it. So here we are.

Love is hard. It often means that we have to go out of our way or get uncomfortable. And just like the verse says, we need to carry each other’s burdens. This is uncomfortable but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t do it. Jesus stepped out of heaven and into this world that He created. He came to love and be love, finally, He gave it all on the cross to save every person from sin and death.

Love means we need to do what Jesus did. We need to step out of our way the help those around us. When someone is down we are called to pick them up and help them. We are meant to love the unlovable and give all of ourselves to others. This life is not our own.

Jesus told the parable of The Good Samaritan. When we look at this story, we see ourselves as the Good Samaritan, but sometimes the rolls change. When we are hurt and we feel like the man on the road, we need someone to stop and help us. We need a Good Samaritan to stop and go out of their way for us. We need a “Donkey” to carry us when we are struggling. We may also need an Inn Keeper to look after us. So when someone else is lying on the side of the road, who will you be?

Let’s carry each other through the trials and the pain. We are not meant to be alone and Jesus has called us to love unconditionally, just like He loved us.

God Bless
