Scripture Saturday: Called For More

Called For More

Hey guys and welcome back to The Faith Filled Friends. It is great to have you here and it is our privilege. We believe God has brought you here for a reason, maybe this message is for you or perhaps another previous devotion. Today we will be looking at the section of scripture from 1 Samuel.

Scripture Saturday

‭‭1 Samuel‬ ‭16:8-12‬
“Then Jesse called Abinadab and had him pass in front of Samuel. But Samuel said, “The Lord has not chosen this one either.” Jesse then had Shammah pass by, but Samuel said, “Nor has the Lord chosen this one.” Jesse had seven of his sons pass before Samuel, but Samuel said to him, “The Lord has not chosen these.” So he asked Jesse, “Are these all the sons you have?” “There is still the youngest,” Jesse answered. “He is tending the sheep.” Samuel said, “Send for him; we will not sit down until he arrives.” So he sent for him and had him brought in. He was glowing with health and had a fine appearance and handsome features. Then the Lord said, “Rise and anoint him; this is the one.””

God has called you above the rest. You may not be as good as everyone else but that is not what God looks for. God examines the heart and from there He calls you. But God has a calling for everyone’s life. He has great plans for you, and that is why He placed you here on Earth.

Do not look at someone else who has been chosen and find you self in a place of envy or jealousy. For God has made us for our own unique purpose and when your heart is right, He will call you up from the ashes and the chains of mediocrity. He has plans far greater than what you could ever imagine, just like David. He was told that He was nothing but a shepherd boy, but after he was called to slay a giant, he was called to be a king. He used his shepherd and music skills and became one of the most God fearing men.

Don’t settle for a mediocre life, for God has the ultimate plan and purpose for you. Sometimes you just need to stop what you are doing and return home, meet with the Lord. God has called you for greatness, don’t ever doubt it.

Jeremiah 29:11
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.”

God Bless
