Face The Trials
“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”
Hey guys and welcome back. If you have been tuning in then you would recognise this scripture. I have really heard a lot from this verse in the past week and I believe God has put it on my heart for a reason. And look what time it is, exam time for university students. I believe this is why God has placed this on my heart.
In life there are some things we have to face alone. Right now is the exam period and for everyone who has ever done an exam, then we recognise that it is something we have to face alone. Your driving test is another task you face alone. In life there are just some things you have to face alone!
Learning to drive a car is something we all learn in our lives. But you don’t drive a car by reading car manuals and watching YouTube videos on, “How to drive a car”. If you want to drive a car you have to actually sit down in a car and try it out. Get a feel for the car. That is how you learn. In our trials we need to actually take a step out first. It is like getting into the car, we need to take a step of faith.
God will give you strength to overcome the task at hand and He is always there to pull you through if you fall. Peter took a step out of that boat and he actually walked on the water. God calls us to step out and “walk on the water” but He also promised to walk besides us. The steps of faith make the big difference. But even in my life I can see that God has grown me in these hard times. My faith was made stronger, my love grew deeper and my hunger became more intense. I know that God works in the hills and in the valleys. But the true growth comes when we are stretched.
There are times when you have to go alone, but I feel that God wants to remind us that we will never be alone. He is always with us, each step we take, each trial we face. And when those exams come and the pressure is on, just trust that God is with you and remind yourself that you have studied this and you know what the answer is. Ask God for a clear, sharp mind and He will give it to you.
“If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.”
Remember to see the joy in the trials. That’s where God grows you. Place your faith in God and you will never be disappointed. You don’t have to go at it alone!
The Lord gives His people strength. The Lord blesses them with peace.
5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding;
6 In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall direct your paths.
