Hey guys and welcome back to The Faith Filled Friends. In today’s devotion we will be looking at John 5 and the importance of keeping connected to God. So let’s get into it.
““I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. This is to my Fatherʼs glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.”
Jesus is our sustenance. If we are without Jesus we are without life. When we live in Jesus we bare His fruits these being the fruits of love.
Jesus is our source of life and love. We find our purpose in Him. He is our hope and our strength in the good and in the bad. But when we are away from Him we have no purpose and there seems to be no hope. It is like any electronic appliance. If it isn’t plugged into the power source or the power socket, then there is no use for that product. We need God to find our purpose and our use. We were made to live with Him, just like and appliance is made to be plugged in.
Let’s plug into God again. Spend some time in His presence soaking in all that He is. Finding who we are in Him. With Jesus, you will do things you couldn’t dream of, you will find your true potential.
