Hey guys and welcome back to The Faith Filled Friends. I am super pumped to be able to share this message with you all. In today’s devotion we will be looking back at another Jeremy Camp song from his most recent album, “I Will Follow”. This song is featured on the deluxe album and is an amazing song. So, let’s dive into “Perfect Love”!
Perfect Love- Jeremy Camp
1 John 4:18- There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.
Perfect Love! Jesus is perfect love and that is something we need to remember. In our fear and shame, He is there to help us through. In our sin and mess, He is there to tell us He loves us. Jesus has endless grace and never failing love.
‘…Days have come, days have gone
I know one thing’s sure
Hanging on by the words of Your promise, Lord
You are good, you are true
Even in my pain.
…And I’m thankful for this suffering
‘Cause it’s brought me right here on my knees…’
Jesus has promised us that His love will never leave us or forsake us. We know that He calls us perfect in His grace. We face trials and challenges in life, but this doesn’t me Jesus has left us. These are the times that we draw closer to God and open our hearts. Through the fire we find the truth that His love never fails.
‘…If perfect love casts out fear
Then here I am Lord drawing near
I’m crying out and You hear my prayer
I feel the depth of how much You care
In Your perfect love
You are perfect love…’
Perfect love covers every mistake and every hurt. In the trials we see how great God’s love is. He is always listening, He is always watching and He is always with us. Jesus is Perfect Love!
1 John 4:8- Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love!
Let the bridge of this song be your prayer. Lift it up to the Lord because He always cares.
‘…I cast my cares, cast my cares
On Your altar Lord (always, always)
‘Cause You are good, You are good
And Your love endures (always, always)
I will rest, I will rest
In Your perfect love (always, always)
There’s no more fear, no more fear
In Your presence Lord…’
