The Heart Of Flesh
Hey guys and welcome to a Scripture Saturday devotion with The Faith Filled Friends! We are so glad to have you join us today, whether this is your first time or not, thank you for coming along! I really wanted to share this quick message with you from Ezekiel.
“I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws.”
A heart of stone? To have a heart of stone means to have a hard heart towards God. You put up walls to “protect” yourself from getting hurt again or from Jesus Himself! This is a very bad thing as God cannot use you or speak to you because you have shut Him out of your life.
The first case of a hard heart was pharaoh when Moses confronted him about the people of God. Pharaoh refused to let the people go and in the end lives were lost.
It may not be as crazy in your life, but do you really want to shut God out? We need to offer our hearts up to God every morning when we rise and asked Him to give us a heart of flesh. You can pray for a heart of flesh in your friends and family members. God can break the heart of stone but He waits for us to open our hearts. If you keep in God, He keeps in you.
God can help that friend of yours that is suffering from a hard heart. He can help that family member that pushes God away. Our God is the God of the impossible!
Here is a song to go with the verse for tonight.
