Won’t Be Moved

Can’t Be Moved

Hey guys and welcome to another devotion from our UNSHAKABLE series. I have had a lot of fun writing these devotions and they have really inspired me. Today’s song was supposed to be a part of the Sunday Sessions devotion, but I left it out because I really felt that it didn’t belong. It needed to be on it’s own. This is Jeremy Camp’s, “Can’t Be Moved” which reminds us of what waits beyond. It won’t be moved… It can’t be moved!

Can’t Be Moved- Jeremy Camp

‘…I can’t lean on the earthly things
‘Cause it’s broke and gonna fade
And I can’t stand on the dirt below
‘Cause this dust gonna blow away
You say, hey now, follow Me, gonna go to the promise land
You say, hey child, don’t forget that the Lord is coming back…’

This is a really funky song. It has the feeling of a blues song which makes it really enjoyable to listen to. But the message is the most amazing part about this song. This life is temporary and it will all fade one day. Nothing we have here will matter! Not our cars, not our video games, not our brand new BMX, not our new house, not our popularity and not even some of our friends! Jesus will return and take up all those who believe in Him and that accept His blood.

This means that everything else fades away. I am sure we all have a friend that doesn’t know Jesus as their personal Lord and saviour. We all have that skeptical friend that questions us and questions Jesus. We all have a friend who just doesn’t know and doesn’t care. These friends will all fade away and turn back into the dust they were formed with.

To be UNSHAKABLE means that you stand up Unashamed and declare your faith and love in Jesus. You tell your friend that doesn’t know Him, all about Him. It means that you will stand Unswervingly when your skeptical friend questions your faith and questions you about Jesus. It means that you will go out of your way to reach your friend that doesn’t care and tell them about the unconditional love of Jesus.

This life is short, too short to miss the opportunities that come our way. We often try a gentle approach not to scare our friends or we will just let them explore on their own. We may find our faith UNSHAKABLE but we don’t reach like we should. We are scared of being judged or judging someone else. Which is totally bizarre.

‘…When everything in this world is falling
We have a Kingdom that can’t be moved
People get ready Heaven is a calling
We have a Kingdom that can’t be, that can’t be moved…’

We may feel shaky when our faith is put into question, but we need to know that God’s kingdom will not be shaken! Life is hard and our faith will be tested, but Jesus has promised that the kingdom of heaven cannot be moved. It is a guarantee. This alone should boost our faith. We don’t know all the answers, but we know that when we stand with Jesus and don’t shake, we will live for eternity in paradise with Him.

Matthew 7:13-14
“Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.”

Isaiah 25:8-9
“he will swallow up death forever. The Sovereign Lord will wipe away the tears from all faces; he will remove his peopleʼs disgrace from all the earth. The Lord has spoken. In that day they will say, “Surely this is our God; we trusted in him, and he saved us. This is the Lord, we trusted in him; let us rejoice and be glad in his salvation.””

‭‭
Jesus has come to defeat death once and for all. He will bring the final blow and there will be no more death and no more suffering! This promise is UNSHAKABLE!

God Bless

    • The tune always inspires people. I would never sing a song the has no tune or rhythm, but these songs get stuck in your head and you start declaring the words over your life. That’s why I believe CCM (Contemporary Christian Music) is so important.

Thanks for the feedback. It is much appreciated!
      God Bless!
