“May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.”
Hey Guys! It is good to be back, it has only been two days but it feels like it’s been so much longer. Today I just want to delve into this verse from the bible and remind us all about the power of our words.
So on Sunday we (my family) were on the Sunday school program at our church and the theme was “Words”. It is a topic we have heard numerous times but we can so easily forget.
Our words have the power of life and death. We have all heard the saying, “Sticks and stones my break my bones, but words will never harm me.” I believe this is wrong. Well, of course sticks and stones can break bones but I mean the words can and do harm you.
“The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.”
When we put others down or speak negatively about ourselves, we are actually causing eternal damage. Our words are far more powerful than we could ever imagine.
So, let’s make sure that all the words that come from our mouths are pleasing to God. Don’t put people down, don’t swear when your Christian friends aren’t looking, don’t speak death over yourself and don’t let the devil win. This is the truth. Jesus came and conquered all of our sin and shame. Let’s lift Him up and let’s do so with words that are pure and right, all the time!
God Bless! I’ll catch you tomorrow for Throwback Thursday.
