“God can testify how I long for all of you with the affection of Christ Jesus. And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God.”
Paul is praying for the people of Philippi. He is asking them about their faithfulness.
Now let me ask you this. How often do you really pray for those you say you will pray for? How dedicated are you to your brothers and sisters in Christ?
This year, 2017, lets commit to praying for 3 or 5 friends twice or so a week. Whether it is that they come to know God and that He reveals Himself to them or if it is for a fellow brother or sister in Christ. Hold yourself accountable, so tell a family member or a friend who you are praying for so they can remind you and check if you are dedicated. I know that I can get lazy and let things slide! But this is an area God is challenging us all in!
We have a secret weapon… Prayer! Let’s pray for this world and for the ones near to us. Let’s love unwaveringly!
