Love With Action

Walk

Hey everyone! I just got back from a youth camp and I have a lot to talk about. But today I have to talk about what God is saying. The camp was titled “Wild Love” and it was about the love of Christ and how He has given it to us. It was based around 1 John 3:16 but it was truly about love in action.

1 John 3:10-18
This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not God’s child, nor is anyone who does not love their brother and sister.
11 For this is the message you heard from the beginning: We should love one another. 12 Do not be like Cain, who belonged to the evil one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his own actions were evil and his brother’s were righteous. 13 Do not be surprised, my brothers and sisters, if the world hates you. 14 We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love each other. Anyone who does not love remains in death. 15 Anyone who hates a brother or sister is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life residing in him.
16 This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters.17 If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person?
18 Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.

We have a choice to love others, but we let our pride and jealousy get in the way. Jesus came to earth to die for all of us who are so unworthy. He reached out to the lost and the broken and never held back His love. We know love because we know God.

God is love. If we don’t know God then we don’t truly know love because any who hasn’t meet Christ hasn’t experienced love. We are called to love others no matter who they are or what they have done. We are call Children of God, so we should love all our brothers and sisters.

1 John 3:18
Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.

We can love with our words but that is not the full extent of love. It can seem hard to love with truth because it can hurt our friends, but it is the only way to love! We avoid telling our friends that they may be walking the path of death because they might get offended. But now, we are called to love with truth.

Love is action. We have discussed the Tauren Wells song, “Love is Action” before but today is a very similar topic as I believe we are not loving people in this day and age. We don’t want to move because we are comfortable where we are. We don’t love with action because we don’t want to get our hands dirty. But Jesus loved, and He got dirty. If we look to the cross we can always love because we remember what Jesus did for us. He died and took all our sin on Himself. He was killed by the people He was loving. Like it says in 1 John, the world will hate us but we must never give up loving, just as Jesus did.

Today I want to look at the amazing Grayson Reed song, “Walk”. It is a very new band and a very new song. This song has inspired me and I hope it motivates us to move and go love the lost and the broken.

Walk- Grayson Reed

‘…what good is a drum without a beat? Lungs that don’t breathe? A soldier that won’t fight? A pen that just won’t write? What good is a choir that don’t sing? A phone that don’t ring? What good is my life if I don’t do anything?…’

The message is just like 1 John 3:18. We need to start walking and stop talking. Love is action, so it’s time for us to move.

What if we gave everything? What if we love with action and with truth? My mouth just keeps on running but I never follow through. True religion is love with hands and feet, and it’s time we reach a world in need! Let’s live out Jesus’ Wild Love. The world will know that we are Children of God through our actions. Let’s rise and stand in love.

Are you with me?

It’s time to love wild!

God Bless

The Faith Filled Friends

  1. This is a great song! We need to show love in action and not just say it! May God work in us to help us love in the way He did.
