“You paid the price now I am, finally free”
Happy Wednesday everyone! I’m back for another devotion today, this time with “Finally Free” by Rend Collective. I really enjoying Rend Collective’s music because of their unique style and also because the meaningful lyrics. I hope you enjoy this song!
“My soul cries out holy, holy, my heart is lost in Your beauty, all hope is found in Your mercy, you paid the price now I am, finally free…”
God is deserving of all our praise and thankfulness for what He has done for us! God’s mercy rains from heaven and it covers us! We deserve full punishment and condemnation for our sins, yet God chose to forgive us and heal us of all our wrongdoings. God is rich in love and mercy and it’s the reason that we live as free and forgiven! We are free from sin and have the hope of eternal life because of God’s mercy. God is powerful enough and fully entitled to punish us for our rebellion against Him, yet He chooses forgiveness and because He is a forgiving God. Jesus paid the price for our sin and set us free from eternal condemnation. We are forever free from our sin because of Jesus!
Ephesians 2:4-5 But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved.
Romans 6:22 But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life.
“Your grace, oh God’s the anchor, that’s holding me forever, come trouble or high water, I am steadfast…”
Nothing can ever come between us and God’s grace. We have been saved by His grace and been given life to the full. When we face difficulties in this life, we can fix our eyes on God’s grace, knowing that nothing can ever separate us from the salvation He has given us. It is because of God’s grace that we have the hope of eternal life to come, and it is a hope that will never fade.
Hebrews 6:19 We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure.
Hebrews 4:16 Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
“Now every chain lies broken, and finally we’re free…”
God has rescued us from sin and it is because of His grace and mercy towards us that we can be saved. Sin no longer rules our lives, but God does. We can live in hope and joy because of the freedom that we have through what Jesus had done for us.
Heavenly Father, I thank you for you mercy and grace that has set us free from sin. We deserve punishment, yet you chose forgiveness and the gift of eternal life for all those who trust you. Thank you that we can live in freedom because of Jesus. May we live in hope and joy because of you grace. I praise you for who you are Lord. In Jesus name, Amen.
