Day 23: Light Of The World

Light Of The World

Hey everyone. Can you believe tomorrow is Christmas Eve?! I know I can’t. It seems to have snuck up on us so fast. It has been a great Christmas break so far, but it seems to have come so quickly.

So today I was walking through the Big W, a shop, looking for some Christmas presents for my family. The thing that caught my attention was not the items in the shop but rather the music. Lauren Daigle has one of the most distinguishable voices. It is so unique. There, in the middle of a packed out shop played a simple song, “Light Of The World”.

I have really loved this song in the “Behold” album. It is definitely my favourite. There is something so simple and raw to the song, but at the same time it is so beautiful and elegant.

I had hear this song earlier this year but I didn’t really take notice to it. Now it is definitely one of my favourite Christmas carols this year. So, let’s have a listen shall we.

Light Of The World- Lauren Daigle

The world waits for a miracle
The heart longs for a little bit of hope
O come, O come, Emmanuel
A child prays for peace on earth
And she’s calling out from a sea of hurt
O come, O come, Emmanuel
And can you hear the angels singing
Glory to the Light of the World
Glory, the Light of the World is here
The drought breaks with the tears of a mother
A baby’s cry is the sound of love
Come down, come down, Emmanuel
He is the song for the suffering
He is Messiah, the Prince of Peace has come
He has come, Emmanuel
Glory to the Light of the World
Glory, the Light of the World is here…’

This song really shares the true meaning of Christmas. Emmanuel, means- God with us. Jesus came to be with us. He came and became a man and faced things much worst than most people do but still never sinned and never stopped loving!

Can you love this whole Christmas season? That means no fighting, no annoying, no taking…. Jesus came to give. He gave us life by giving us His own.

Luke 2:10-11
But the angel said to them, β€œDo not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Saviour has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.

‘…For all who wait, for all who hunger
For all who’ve prayed, for all who wonder
Behold your King, behold Messiah
Emmanuel, Emmanuel…’

Remember who Jesus was and why He came. Don’t forget and don’t be ashamed to tell the people around you what Christmas really means. Be the light to the lost and the hurt this Christmas. Behold… The Lord!

Merry Christmas everyone.

God Bless!
