No Such Thing As Impossible

Impossible

‘We can rise above the typical… And be anything but usual… We Know… There is no such thing as Impossible!’ The chorus from the catchy, upbeat single “Impossible” by Building 429.  It is jazzy and is a lot of fun with some people claiming that the song has French Horns playing. I assume they mean trumpet because even the music video doesn’t show any horns let alone any French ones!

Message Monday

Impossible- Building 429

‘You got a vision… You got a dream… But it feels a million miles away… You got your passion… You got to believe… That this is why you were made’ Our lives are not accidental and we find hope in Jesus. God gives us gifts and passions in life, we have got to believe God has a purpose in this. Whether you want to be a musician or a photographer, a journalist or a pastor, you must never stop believing that God puts these passions in your heart.

With God, nothing is impossible, He did make the whole universe by just speaking it into existence. When you walk into your exam or a job interview just remember that God is with you always and He can do the impossible. Philippians 4:13- I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Nothing is impossible!! We just need two simple things, Jesus Christ and faith. If we believe Jesus is in us giving us power then we can do some crazy stuff, let alone pass an exam or get that job.

Jesus gives life and life to the full. When we believe in Jesus and let him change us, we can do the impossible and we will live the best life planned for us. This links with The Faith Filled Friends foundation scripture, Jeremiah 29:11- “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “Plans to prosper you and not to hard you, plans to give you a hope and a future.” We believe in God and the great plans He has made for our lives, our country and our world. We truly believe that God has made some great plans for our lives filling us with passion and gifts in these areas. His plan is greater than ours so we should not trust in ourselves or our own plans but rather in the plans of God. Nothing is impossible because we have the same power that rose Jesus the dead, lives inside us. Nothing is impossible! Grab a hold of this and believe it anytime a trail comes.

Afraid Revisit

Since this is our second week as The Faith Filled Friends, I thought we could have some fun and revisit the original post, “Afraid“. It was one of the most popular posts and not every detail was covered. People asked me, ‘What is fear? Why am I afraid? Why is God the only one I need in times of trouble and fear?’ and these are all great questions.

Fear is just a consequence of believing a lie. If this is true you begin to wonder, ‘Why am I afraid?’ and ‘Whose voice am I listening to?’. So in other words, fear is the result of believing that voice telling you the lies. This is where things get very scary if we understand what’s going on. The worry and fear you experience is the belief that God’s not going to get it right. That’s a slap in the face. Knowing that when you worry and fear, you are doubting God and all His grace.

Psalm 62:11 (and a bit of 12) One thing God has spoken, two things I have heard: “Power belongs to you, God, and with you, Lord, is unfailing love” God is both strong and loving. If He is only strong, He may not help us because He doesn’t love, but if He is just loving then it doesn’t mean He can save us in hard times. We need God to be both strong and loving and He is. Jesus took all our punishment because he was strong than us, and He cared for us. Now we are strong enough because of Jesus’ sacrifice.

So next time fear and worry washes over you, just ask yourself, which voice am I listening to. Because if you listen to Jesus, you won’t have to be afraid anymore!

    • There is no such such thing as impossible! What an amazing truth! We don’t have to be concerned about what lies ahead because God has amazing things planned for us.

Good revisit on the ‘Afraid’ devotion too. We always need to remind ourselves not to worry or be afraid about anything! Jesus told us not to worry but to give all our concerns to Him in prayer.

      • You are so good at wording your comments and devotions Josh! Yes I agree with God we are Limitless! (Colton Dixon, Planetshakers) But I really felt there was more to cover for Afraid, and what better way to wrap-up the 29:11 than with what we started with!

    • Thanks Caitlin! I remember when I was reading a review of the Unashamed album, (Go get it everyone! Building 429 are so underappreciated, and so good! Album was a 5/5) the reviews for Impossible said it was good and that they all liked the French Horns! I was really confused and listened very closely the next time and I could only hear trumpets. But you say there are no French Horns, that means there ARE NO French Horns.
